Happy Republic Day! Today we’ll be looking at and listening to a Traditional Heavy Metal act from India, Assam, Silchar run by Shibam Talukdar – Vocals, guitars and Soumyadeep Nath Barbhuiyan – Bass guitar.
You hardly find Traditional Heavy Metal bands from around North East India. I will make this review a quick one. Talking about the music, these guys (duo) reminded me of Booze Control, Flesh, Grave Digger, the old Wolf (Swedish Heavy Metal), etc. They are highly influenced by Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Dio, Saxon, Manowar, Accept, King Diamond, Running Wild, Tank, Iced Earth. Umm, some great influences there. The Cover art below is done by Jigmet Wanchok. A real masterpiece!
According to what they mentioned in the band’s social profile, “Fuelled by the fire and the force delivered by the elder gods of heavy metal, Knight plays Traditional Heavy Metal true to the bone with a vow to keep defending the faith and rocking out through the night.” And it seems that is exactly what they are doing. The music is so motivational and energetic it will definitely give you that adrenaline pump. Get yourself a sword.⚔️ No, seriously. Stream the full EP below.
The vocals are mostly in the lower chest voice range like that of Stormwarrior. I wished Knight incorporated some higher chest or head voice vocals but never the less it’s tight af including the music. It doesn’t get boring and not monotonous. This EP is made of pure primordial steel freshly born out of the hammer and the anvil. A must have EP for every Traditional Heavy Metal fans!
I am loving the lyrics a lot. They are a bit on the darker side but hey it’s just music. Personally, I love dark lyrics. The last track, “Break the Chains” is quite inspiring and full of energy. My favourite track! Stream for free below.
This EP is really great to listen to while you work out. A Heavy Metal music for lifting some Heavy Metal. 😉 I am looking forward to these duos in the future. Great going guys. You made Assam proud!
Let us hear from you guys. Comment below what you like about this EP. Peace out.
